Guilherme Carvalho, 91, of Somerset and husband of Nelly (Medeiros) Carvalho, passed away peacefully on Sunday, June 6, 2021 at Charlton Memorial Hospital after a brief illness. Born in Bretanha, St. Michael, Azores, he was a son of the late Agusto Carvalho and the late Helena (Xavier) Carvalho.

Prior to his retirement he was a Supervising Cutter in the local garment industry for many years. An avid Benfica fan, he also loved gardening. He was Founder and President of "Amigos Da Bretanha", an organization that reunites fellow natives of Bretanha. But most notably, Guilherme was a kind, wise, and compassionate gentleman who held family to be of utmost importance.

Besides his wife of sixty-five years, he leaves: his daughter, Olga Silvia and her husband, Paul, of Naples, Florida; son-in-law, Michael Anctil of Bedford, New Hampshire; three grandchildren, Mathieu Silvia and his wife, Sharron, Corey Silvia, and Ryan Anctil and his wife, Katlyn; two great-grandchildren, Kayla Silvia and Parker Anctil; brother-in-law, Joao Furtado of Hamilton, Ontario, Canada; and many loving nieces and nephews. He was also the father of the late Donna Anctil and brother of the late Antonio and Jaime Carvalho and Odelia Furtado.

His Funeral Mass was celebrated on Saturday, June 12nd, in St. John of God Church, Somerset, followed by his committal at Notre Dame Cemetery in Fall River.
