Obituary

Guilherme P. Correia, 92, of Tiverton, Rhode Island, husband of the late Maria Angelina (Peixoto) Correia, passed away at home on Saturday, July 23, 2022. Born in Lomba de Santa Barbara, Ribeira Grande, St. Michael, Azores, he was a son of the late Antonio Correia and the late Maria Jacinta (Pimentel) Correia.

Prior to his retirement he worked for an East Providence machine shop for over twenty-five years. He then worked at Ann and Hope in Seekonk for several years. A devout Catholic, he was a long-time communicant of Holy Ghost Church in Tiverton, Rhode Island. He loved gardening, camping, cruises, and traveling locally to such places as New Hampshire and Cape Cod. He also enjoyed attending Portuguese Feasts, making his home-made wine and red crushed peppers, and polishing off some of his favorite treats (malasadas, masa, and arroz dulce). A very strong-willed and hard-working man, Guilherme was also a devoted husband, father, and grandfather who instilled high morals and standards in all of his children. He was so very proud of all of them. He will be greatly missed and will be remembered as a great Dad and a really cool Grandpa.

He leaves his three children, William Correia (wife - Karen) and Elizabeth Cayer (husband - Matthew), both of Tiverton, and Rose Larrivee (companion - John Fice) of Westport; seven grandchildren, William Correia, III, Chad Correia, Cassidy Correia, Evan Cayer, Kate Larrivee, Drew Larrivee and Michael Larrivee; five great-grandchildren, William Correia, IV, Avery Correia, Jade Correia, James Correia and Rory Correia; many nieces and nephews. He was also father-in-law of the late Eric Larrivee.

His funeral arrangements were private.
