Guilherme O. Gaudencio, 75, of Fall River, husband of Olga (Lopes) Gaudencio, passed away on Wednesday, August 9, 2023, at Tufts Medical Center, Boston, after a long illness. Born in Remedios de Bretanha, São Miguel, Açores, he was a son of the late Jacinto Gaudencio and the late Jorgina (Oliveira) Gaudencio.
He worked with his father for many years at their family-owned bakery, served in the Portuguese Army where he spent 2 years in Angola, then emigrated to Fall River in 1972. Guilherme was employed as a plant engineer at American Wire of Pawtucket, RI, for many years, and later became an entrepreneur – owning several retail and real estate businesses. He was most proud of his family and his faith, never missing Sunday mass. Traveling was one of his many joys in life. He loved to laugh and had an unmatched sense of humor. Beloved Dad and Vovô, Guilherme will be forever missed and remembered for the unwavering love and support he showed his family.
Besides his wife, of 53 years, he is survived by: two daughters Helena Pimentel (husband Ricardo) of Hudson, NH, and Lizeth "Lisa" Soares (late husband Cesar) of Fall River; six siblings, Julieta Castello Branco of St. Michael, Azores, Vasco Gaudencio of No. Dartmouth, Raul Gaudencio of Ontario Canada, and Maria do Carmo Tavares, Joao Agusto Gaudencio, Jesse Gaudencio all of No. Dartmouth; four grandchildren, Debora, Shane, Samantha and Eric; a great grandson, Eric Jr.; and many nieces and nephews. }
His Funeral Mass was celebrated on Saturday, August 12th, in Espirito Santo Church followed by a private cremation.
