Obituary

Haleem L. "Bubbles" Khoury, 93, of Fall River, passed away on Wednesday at the Sarah Brayton Nursing Home, surrounded by his family. Born in Fall River, son of the late Naimi (Abdallah) and Tanous Khoury, he was a resident of Fall River all his life. He served in the US Navy during WWII, spent years working at the US Naval War College, Newport, RI as well as serving a lengthy career at the Venus de Milo, where in the days Frank Sinatra would be there, Bubbles was the only person allowed to pour his bourbon. He also escorted JFK and Ted Kennedy on their campaigns. An active member of the St. Anthony of the Desert Church, he was also a member of the Lebanon American Society, American Lebanese Veterans Association Staff Sgt. Philip Sabra Post, Over the Hill Gang and the Rough Riders. Bubbles loved sports, hunting and fishing but treasured most his time spent with and caring for his family. He is survived by sisters-in-law, Angelina Khoury and Charlotte Khoury; a niece, Christine Khoury Lake (husband - Robert); nephews, Thomas Khoury (wife - Charlene) and James Khoury (wife - Gina); great nephew, Adam Khoury (wife - Michelle); great nieces, Carrie Paterna (husband - Joseph), Leeza Santos (husband - Jared), Jahnna Khoury and Giulia Khoury; great great niece Angelina Paterna. He was also brother of the late Emile Khoury, James T. Khoury and Edward A. Khoury. His Funeral Mass was celebrated on Wednesday, February 4, in St. Anthony of the Desert Church followed by his committal with military honors at Notre Dame Cemetery.
