Obituary

Harriet Stanley, age 80, of Fall River, passed away on Monday, April 6, 2009, at the Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston. She was the widow of Norval Augustus Stanley, II. Born in Lorain, Ohio, she was the eldest daughter of the late Alley Eldeb and the late Anna (Morano) Eldeb. A resident of Fall River since 1995, she was raised in Quincy, MA and then lived in Westport for twenty-five years before moving to Somerset in 1984. Although she took various jobs at an early age to help her parents, she made the decision to remain at home when beginning her own family. Harriet was a loving mother who devoted her life to the care of her family and home. She was also a very active member of the Bliss Four Corners Congregational Church and volunteered with the Girl Scouts of America. Surviving family members include her children, Roberta Ann Parker of Sarasota, FL, Michael Alley Stanley and his wife Teresa of Mary Esther, FL, Norval A. "Sonny" Stanley, III , and his wife Jacqueline of Acushnet, Ramona Lynn Stanley of Fall River, and David Wayne Stanley and his wife Elia of Westport, four brothers, James Eldeb of Hanson, MA, William Eldeb of Jacksonville, FL, Norman Eldeb of Braintree, MA, and Ronald Eldeb of Avon, MA, four sisters, Elmina Greene of Quincy, MA, Anna Mae Pasquale of Randolph, MA, Diana Glineck of Palm Bay, FL, and Karen Hassan of Braintree, MA, ten grandchildren, Jeffrey R. Parker, Patrick M. Stanley, Kevin C. Stanley, Erik R. Stanley, Andrew R. Stanley, Shawn M. Stanley, Marissa L. Stanley, John M. Santiago, Samantha J. Stanley, and Shelsae L. Stanley, two great grandchildren, Christopher B. Stanley and Haley A. Stanley, and many nieces and nephews. She was also the mother-in-law of the late Richard D. Parker, grandmother of the late Adam P. Stanley, and sister of the late Lila Kohlman and Cassandra Sleiman. Her funeral services were held on Friday, April 10, at the Silva-Faria Funeral Home in Fall River. Committal services followed at the Riverside Cemetery in Fairhaven.
