Helen J. Carvalho, 69, of Westport, wife of Joseph S. Carvalho, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her family on Friday, November 25, 2022. Born in New Bedford, a daughter of the late Lawrence Oliver, she lived in Westport most of her life.

She was employed as a special education teacher in the Dartmouth school system for 13 years, retiring in 2012. Prior to that she had worked as a phlebotomist for many years. Helen was an outstanding mother, wife, sister, and grandmother.

Besides her husband, of 51 years, she is survived by her son, Joseph D. Carvalho, siblings, Lawrence Oliveira and Maureen McAuliffe, grandchildren, several nieces and nephews, and her loving dog, Luna. She was the mother of the late Jennifer L. Carvalho.

Her Funeral Service was held on Tuesday, November 29th, in our Fall River Chapel followed by her committal at Oak Grove Cemetery in Fall River.
