Herman Souza, 92, of Fall River, husband of the late Rose M. (Martin) Souza, passed away on Wednesday, November 16, 2022, at Charlton Memorial Hospital.  Born in, and a lifelong resident of, Fall River, he was a son of the late Frank Souza and the late Jenny (Santos) Souza.

He worked for many years as a meat cutter at Wilson's Packing Company, Robeson Market, IGA and Auclair's. Upon his retirement in 1992, Herman helped his son at New Boston Bakery. He was an Air Force veteran of the Korean Conflict. Herman was an avid New England sports fan (but he hated Alex Cora). He also enjoyed fishing and hunting, as well as visiting Foxwoods and Twin Rivers.

He is survived by: three children, Gale M. Powers (husband William) of Fall River, Michael J. Souza (wife Darlene) of Swansea, and James M. Souza of Fall River; a sister, Helen Medeiros of Somerset; two grandchildren Ava Rose and Michael Nelson; and several nieces and nephews. He was also a brother of the late Joseph Souza and Frank Souza.

The family wishes to thank the staff at Kimwell Nursing and Rehabilitation Center for the kind support and compassionate care shown Herman.

His Funeral Mass was celebrated on Saturday, November 19th, in Holy Name Church followed by his committal at Notre Dame Cemetery.
