Herminia (Silveira ) DeFreitas,94, of Fall River, passed away unexpectedly at home on Wednesday, September 28, 2016. She was the widow of Jose F. DeFreitas. Mrs. DeFreitas was born in Ponta Delgada, Flores, Azores, and was a daughter of the late Sebastiao and Maria da Gloria ( DeFreitas) Silveira. She was the mother of Maria Ligia Tavares and the grandmother of Paulo J. Tavares. She also leaves several nieces and nephews. She also has four late sisters and one late brother. Her Funeral Mass was celebrated on Monday October 3rd, in St. Anthony of Padua Church followed by her committal at Notre Dame Cemetery.
