Hlbert "Joe" Serodio, age 64, of Somerset, Massachusetts, passed away peacefully at his home on Thursday, January 13, 2011. Born in Fall River, he was the son of the late Hilbert V. Serodio and the late Mary P. (Pereira) Serodio. A member of the 1969 graduating class of Southeastern Massachusetts University, with a BS in Civil Engineering, he was employed for many years with the Federal Highway Administration until his retirement in 2001. He was an avid saltwater fisherman and a member of the Benevolent & Protective Order of Elks, Fall River Lodge No. 118. Although Hilbert enjoyed sports, the blues & classic rock, he especially loved the company of his four grandchildren, Cameron, Jayden, Aaron and Savannah. In addition to his grandchildren, surviving family members include his two daughters, Mrs. Robert (Christina) Almeida of Somerset, and Mrs. Jay (Kelly) Hankins of Middletown, Rhode Island, a sister, Deborah Day of Fall River, and several nieces and nephews. He was also the brother of the late Kathleen Gregory and the late Joan Serodio. On Saturday, January 22, family and friends gathered at our Somerset Chapel to celebrate Joe's life with a touching memorial service.
