Hilda Silvia, 92, of Fall River, widow of William Silvia, passed away on July 17, 2019 at Clifton Rehabilitation Nursing Center, of Somerset, after a short illness. Born in Fall River, a daughter of the late Augusto Luiz and the late Maria (Carvalho) Luiz, she was employed in the local textile industry for 33 years.

Hilda loved cooking, sewing, playing cards, trips to the casino, and spending time with her family – especially her grandchildren. A devout Catholic, she was steadfast in praying her daily rosary and attending mass.

Survivors include: a son, William Silvia, Jr. (wife Denise) of Fall River; a daughter, Janice Sliva (husband Steven) of Tarpon Springs, Florida; a brother, Richard Luiz (fiancee Cindy Rego) of Portsmouth, RI; five grandchildren, Jennifer Sliva, Joshua Sliva, William R Silvia, Chad Amaral, and Tyler Amaral; five great grandchildren, Sophia Sliva, Lucas DeChaine, Leia DeChaine, Isabella Sliva, and Adalyn McAllister; and many nieces & nephews. She was also the mother of the late Robert A. Silvia; and sister of the late Cecelia Vieira, Mary Guay, and Jose Luiz.

Her Funeral Mass was celebrated on Monday, July 22nd, in Espirito Santo Church followed by her committal at Notre Dame Cemetery.
