Horacio S. Teixeira, 88, of Fall River, husband of Maria (Resendes) Teixeira, died Saturday 5/17/14 at home after a long illness. Born in Achadinha Nordeste, St Michael, Azores, son of the late Viriato Sousa & Mariana Teixeira, he emigrated to Fall River in 1971. A dairy truck driver in the Azores for many years, he also worked for over 10 years at Lightolier. He enjoyed farming, fishing, outdoor activities and soccer. Besides his wife, of 56 years, he leaves: 4 sons, Albert & Mario (wife Natasha) Teixeira both of Fall River, Paul Teixeira of Westport, and Fernando (wife Tara) Teixeira of So. Hadley, MA; a sister, Olinda Soares of Fall River; 4 grandchildren; 2 great grandchildren; several nieces & nephews. Also, many siblings predeceased him. His Funeral Mass was celebrated on Wednesday, May 21, in Espirito Santo Church followed by his committal at St Patrick Cemetery.
