Humberto Da Silva, age 95, passed away unexpectedly at St. Anne's Hospital in Fall River on Saturday, January 23, 2010. He was the husband of the late Gloria (Medeiros) Da Silva. Born on the island of Sao Miguel in the Azores, he was the son of the late Francisco Da Silva and the late Maria Da Silva. A retired carpenter, he was a resident of Fall River for over forty years. Humberto was a member and also served as a Deacon of the Assembly of God Church on Plymouth Avenue in Fall River. Surviving family members include; a son, Humberto M. Da Silva of Caracas, Venezuela, two daughters, Maria Correia and Marianne Pacheco, both of Fall River, a sister, Amerinda Da Silva, of Sao Miguel, three grandchildren, Frank Correia of Fall River, Nelia Da Silva of Caracas, and Peter Pacheco of Riverside, RI, four great grandchildren, Frankie Correia of Fall River, Joseph Da Silva of Caracas, Meagan Correia of Fall River, and Lucas Pacheco of Riverside, and many nieces and nephews. He was also the father of the late Joseph Carlos Da Silva. On Wednesday, January 27, friends and family gathered at the funeral home before departing for services in the Assembly of God Church. After the service, pallbearers Frank Correia, Peter Pacheco, Frankie Correia, Gus Silva, Paul Dion, and Michael Correia brought Humberto to his final resting place in Oak Grove Cemetery.
