Idalina "Eileen" Bernardo, 82, formerly of Stafford Rd, widow of Edward C. Bernardo, died on January 3, 2009 at Catholic Memorial Home. Born in Fall River, daughter of the late Frank M. & Alexandrina (Oliveira) Aguiar, she was a lifelong resident of Fall River. Prior to her retirement in 1988, she worked in the local garment industry as a sewing machine operator and also as a certified nurse's aide for many years at Catholic Memorial Home and at the former Fall River Nursing Home (now Highlander). Survivors include: children, Joseph Bernardo of Simi Valley CA, Eileen F. Leduc of Riverside RI and Susan Bernardo of Glen Gardner N.J.; siblings, James Aguiar of Assonet, Mary Cabral & Alice Amarello both of Fall River; 6 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews. Her funeral Mass was celebrated in Holy Trinity Church. Pallbearers Douglas Leduc, David Almeida, Mark Wagner, Steven Terceira and James Aguiar Jr. brought Idalina to her final resting place at Notre Dame Cemetery.
