Idalina (Fernandes) Cadoico, age 74, passed away unexpectedly on Friday, October 23, 2009, at the St. Anne's Hospital in Fall River. She was the beloved wife of Albertino Cadoico Prata of Fall River. Born in Gouveia, Portugal, she was a daughter of the late Eduardo Fernandes and the late Maria do Ceu (Almeida) Fernandes. After residing in Portugal for thirty-four years, she moved to Fall River with her family in 1969 and was employed in the textile trade of this city for many years, until her retirement in 2000. A communicant of Santo Christo Church on Columbia Street in Fall River, she was the backbone of her family, a devoted wife and loving mother and grandmother. In addition to Albertino, her husband of over fifty years, surviving family members include her children, Rosemary Duarte (her husband Afonso), Jack Cadoico (his wife Juvenalia) and Helen Vasconcelos (her husband Manuel) all of Fall River; two sisters, Maria Angelina Oliveira (her husband Avelino) and Eduardo Fernandes, both of Fall River; grandchildren, Paul (his wife Laurie) and Jennifer Duarte, Ashley and Andrew Cadoico, Samantha, Jordan and Mason Vasconcelos; great granddaughter, Abigail Rose; a sister-in-law, Carlotto; and several nieces and nephews. She was also the sister of the late Alberto Fernandes. Her Funeral Mass was offered in Santo Christo Church on Tuesday, October 27, followed by a committal service at St. Patrick's Cemetery, located on Robeson Street in Fall River.
