Obituary

Ilda S. Camara, 78, of Fall River, wife of the late Domingos Camara, passed away peacefully on Thursday, March 10, 2022 at St. Anne's Hospital following a brief illness. Born in Ajuda da Bretanha, St. Michael, Azores, she was a daughter of the late Francisco Pacheco and the late Beatriz (Farias) Pacheco.

Prior to her retirement she worked as a sewing machine operator in the local textile industry for several years. She loved cooking, baking, knitting, playing cards, and word searches. But what was most important to Ilda was spending quality time with all her family.

She leaves her loving children, Clemente Camara and his wife, Jodie, Maria Conceicao Ferreira and her husband, Antone, Joe Camara, and Domingos Camara, all of Fall River; her four grandchildren, Kevin Ferreira, Hayley Camara, Nathan Camara, and Vanessa Camara; five sisters, Maria Costa (late husband, Carlos), Mariana Farias (late husband, Jose), Helena Rego (late husband, Jose), Beatriz DeOliveira and her husband, Joao, all of Fall River, and Sofia Batista (late husband, Manuel) of Dartmouth; one brother, Joao Pacheco of Fall River; her sister-in-law, Maria Pacheco of Fall River; and many nieces and nephews. She was also the sister of the late Jose Pacheco and the late Francisco Pacheco.

Her Funeral Mass was celebrated on Tuesday, March 15th, in Espirito Santo Church followed by her committal at Notre Dame Cemetery. The Camara family would like to express their gratitude to Beacon Hospice for the exceptional care they provided for their mother during her final days.

Family members are always grateful for relatives and friends wishing to make in-person expressions of kindness and support. If you were unable to do so, because of this pandemic or any other reason, all are urged to express their sympathy online or by mail. To ensure that said condolences and/or sympathy cards reach the family, please always make sure that submissions online are made directly through the funeral home's website ( www.silvafaria.com ) and not through a third party. Thank you!
