Ilda Oliveira, 72, of Fall River, widow of Duarte Oliveira, passed away on Thursday, March 25, 2021 after an illness. Born in Arrifes, St. Michael, Azores, daughter of the late Rolando Moniz and the late Ilda dos Reis Tavares Brum, she emigrated to Fall River in 1967.

She was employed in the local textile industry for many years, retiring in 2010 – and was a member of the International Ladies Garment Workers Union (I.L.G.W.U.) now known as UNITE.

She is survived by: two sons, Mark Oliveira (wife Diane) of North Dartmouth and Kevin Oliveira (wife Jessica) of Fall River; a brother, Luis Moniz (wife Fatima) of New Bedford; siblings-in-law, Fatima Moniz of Fall River and Liberal Oliveira (wife Matilde) of Somerset; two grandchildren, Marissa and Jaden; and several nieces and nephews.

Her Funeral Mass was celebrated on Tuesday, April 6th, in Santo Christo Church followed by her committal at Notre Dame Cemetery.
