Ildeberto M. Alves, 78, of Westport, husband of Lurdes (Benevides) Alves, passed away at home on Tuesday, July 6, 2021. Born in Covoada, Relva, St. Michael, Azores, son of the late Antonio Alves Medeiros and the late Maria da Conceicao Silva, he emigrated to Fall River in 1976.

He had worked for years at Whitcha Clock formerly of Fall River, O'Day Boat, and Swan Finishing. He loved gardening and wine making; and he was an active member of the Westport Elders. A devout Catholic, he was a member of the Espirito Santo Church Holy Ghost and Holy Name Society.

Beside his wife of 55 years, he is survived by: two daughters, Natercia Medrano (husband David) of Chicago, IL, and Aurelia Alves-Mauricio (husband Arnold) of Westport, MA; three siblings, Gilberta Gomes of Bristol, RI, Jose Alves of Montreal, Canada, and Iva Ferreira of Arrifes, St. Michael, Azores; three grandchildren, Noah, Evan, and Jonathan; and several nieces and nephews.

His Funeral Mass was celebrated on Tuesday, July 13th, in Espirito Santo Church followed by his committal at St. Patrick Cemetery in Fall River.
