Ines de Costa, 79, of Somerset, was called home on Saturday. She was the wife of the late Manuel Costa. Daughter of the late Joseph & Emerenciana (Andrade) Taveira. Known to all as "Vo", she spent the last 33 years as proprietor of St. John's Kitchen. Together with her beloved husband, she owned & operated the Albernaz Restaurant in Ocean Grove. She was a member of the Third Order of Secular Franciscans, St. Louis Fraternity. In recognition of her dedication to the community, she was a proud recipient of the Marion Medal, Fall River Hometown Hero and the Portuguese Heritage Award. Survivors include a daughter, Ines Bates (husband-Paul) of Somerset; sons, Michael De Costa (wife-Debra) of Swansea and Manuel Costa, Jr. (wife-Cathy) of Somerset; her beloved grandchildren, Aaron, Evan, Kyle and Lauren Costa, Valarie Hill, Andrea Medeiros, Christopher Fitzpatrick and Matthew and Trevor Bates and her great grandson David. She also leaves several nieces and nephews. She was also mother of the late Joey de Costa and sister of the late Mary Brum. Her Funeral Mass was celebrated in St. John of God Church. She was laid to rest at Notre Dame Cemetery.
