Irene Costa, aged 84, of Fall River, widow of Edward Costa, died Tuesday, 6/9/09, at Charlton Memorial Hospital, after a long illness. Born in Fall River, daughter of the late Manuel R. & Francelina (Cabral) Teixeira, she was a lifelong resident. She worked at Trends Mfg until her retirement. Mother of Diane Guay of Fall River and the late Edward F. Costa; mother-in-law of Robert R. Guay of Fall River and Carol A. Costa of Somerset; sister of the late Joseph "Cobby" Teixeira, Antone Teixeira, Manuel Raposa, Edmund Teixeira, and Mary Feijo; grandmother of Robert A. & Jonathan E. Guay, Christopher E. Costa, Amy Marie Eastwood, and Kevin & David Borges. She also leaves 5 great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews. Her Funeral Mass was offered on Saturday, June 13, in Sacred Heart Church.
