Irene T. Silva, 93, of Fall River, wife of the late Luis Teixeira Silva, passed away peacefully at the Fall River Jewish Home on August 5, 2019. Born in Agua Retorta, St. Michael, Azores, she was a daughter of the late Manuel Tomas and Evelina (DeMelo) Cabral. She worked as a seamstress in the local garment industry prior to her retirement. A true homebody, she loved cooking, crocheting, reading, watching her Portuguese and Spanish soap operas, and simply spending quality time with her family. A devout Catholic, Irene also enjoyed attending Mass and praying the rosary daily. She leaves: her children, David M. Teixeira and his wife, Mary, Roy J. Teixeira and his wife, Helen, and Maria LeMaire and her husband, Paul, all of Fall River; six grandchildren, Sandy Reis and her significant other, Robert Goff, Brian Teixeira, Jocelyn Souza, Jacquelyn Teixeira, Chloe Rae Doucet, and Rileigh Page Lemaire; two great-grandchildren, Zoey Madyson Reis and Teagan Rae Souza; and many nephews and nieces, especially Marilia Serpa, who was always there for any of Irene's needs. She was also the mother of the late Gil M. Teixeira and sister of the late Filomena Resendes. Her Funeral Mass was celebrated on Monday, August 12th, in St. Anthony of Padua Church followed by her committal at St. Patrick Cemetery.
