Iria Bennivedse, 100, of Somerset, formerly of Westport, wife of the late Alfred L. Bennivedse, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, April 8, 2025 at Somerset Ridge Nursing Home following a long illness. Born in Fall River, she was the daughter of the late Joseph Vasconcellos and the late Justina (Diogo) Vasconcellos.

Prior to her retirement she worked as sewing machine operator in the local textile industry for many years. She loved cooking, baking, and volunteering at the Catholic Memorial Home. She also enjoyed her bus trips to Foxwoods to play bingo, and, most importantly, spending quality time with her family.

She leaves her loving grandchildren, Jodi Toste and her husband, Norman, of Fall River, and Mark Bennivedse and his wife, Mindi, of Westport; her two great-grandchildren, Faith Bennivedse and Madison Moscarelli; one brother, Raymond Vasconcellos and his wife, Aline and several nieces and nephews. She was the mother of the late Richard Bennivedse.

Her Funeral Mass was celebrated on Wednesday, April 16th, at Espirito Santo Church followed by her committal at Notre Dame Cemetery both in Fall River.
