Irondina C. Medeiros, 88, formerly of Plain St, passed away on Thursday, January 4, 2018 at Kimwell Nursing Home in Fall River. Born in Sete Cidades, on the isle of St. Michael, the Azores, she was a daughter of the late Manuel Cordeiro and the late Maria Francisca Cordeiro. She emigrated to Fall River in 1983, and worked for a short time in the local textile industry.

She loved crocheting and watching TV (including Wheel of Fortune, Jeopardy, and Let's Make a Deal), but she was especially fond of her grandchildren, most all of whom she enjoyed having a hand in upbringing.

In the year 2000, Irondina was widowed from Luis A. Medeiros, her beloved husband of 52 years, with whom she raised eleven children. Nine children survive her: Carlos C. Medeiros (wife Natalia) of Dighton, Candida Santos (husband Alberto) of Fall River, Francisco A. Medeiros (wife Neves) of Somerville, Duarte A. Medeiros (wife Herminia) of Toronto Canada, Antonio M. Medeiros (wife Filomena) of New Bedford, Mario A. Medeiros (wife Teresa) of Fall River, Jorge A. Medeiros (wife Manuela) of Fall River, Maria "Suzie" Amaral (husband Messias) of Westport & Nelia M. Pasteris (husband Aaron) of Taunton. She also leaves: a brother, Antonio Cordeiro of Fall River; 19 grandchildren; 9 great grandchildren; and many nieces & nephews.

She was also the mother of the late Luis A. Medeiros (wife Claudina, of Ontario Canada) and the late Manuel A. Medeiros (wife Virginia, of Fall River); grandmother of the late Paulo Alexandre Santos, the late Luis Medeiros, and the late Scotty Medeiros; and sister of multiple predeceased siblings.

Her Funeral Mass was celebrated on Monday, January 8th, in St Anthony of Padua Church followed by her committal at St. Patrick Cemetery.
