Isaura Da
Silva
d. Nov 28, 2024
Isaura Da Silva, 92, of Fall River, wife of the late Jose L. Da Silva, passed away peacefully on Thursday, November 28, 2024 at Prosper Assisted Living following a brief illness.
Born in Sao Jose, St. Michael, Azores, she was a daughter of the late Joao Marcelino and the late Maria (Carreiro) Marcelino. Before immigrating to the United States and while working as an entertainer in Portugal, she met the "Love of her Life", Jose. Together, with hard work and perseverance, they raised four children and embarked on a very successful and happy life.
Prior to her retirement she worked as a presser in the local textile industry for many years. Later in life, her greatest accomplishment was raising her grandchildren. An amazing cook, she was also an entertainer and the "life of the party" with her many jokes, and her singing and dancing. Most notably, Isaura's family meant everything to her and she utterly enjoyed spending quality time with all of them.
She leaves her loving children: Alda Menezes and her husband, Luis, of Fall River, Joseph Da Silva and his wife, Connie, of Westport, Louis Da Silva and his wife, Grace, of Swansea, and Robert Da Silva and his companion, Tereza DeMedeiros, of Westport; her fourteen grandchildren, Lori, Rodney, Christopher, Kimberly, Kelly, Joyce, Jennifer, Jason, Kendra,Timothy, Kevin, Katelyn, Corey, and Nicole, as well as many cherished great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; her sister, Natalia Marcelino of the Azores; her sister-in-law and friend, Alda Casmiro; and many wonderful and loving nieces and nephews. She was also the sister of the late Joao Marcelino, Marceline Carreiro, Maria Salgado, Angela Ciombra, Irondina Rodrigues, and Amelia Catarina.
Her Funeral Mass was celebrated on Tuesday, December 3rd, in St. Anthony of Padua Church followed by her committal at St. Patrick Cemetery.
