Jacalyn
Cochrane
d. Jul 18, 2022
Jacalyn Cochrane, 67, of Fall River, formerly of Westport, long-time companion of William Dispirito, passed away peacefully on Monday, July 18, 2022, at Charlton Memorial Hospital following a long illness. Born in Bristol, Rhode Island, she was the daughter of Barbara (Sousa) Cochrane of Warren, Rhode Island, and the late Charles Cochrane.
Prior to her retirement from New England Boatworks, she was a Human Resource Director for a local manufacturing company for many years. A very knowledgeable and determined "DIY" woman, she particularly loved interior design and refinishing furniture. She also enjoyed all things nautical, had a love for all music, and was the ultimate party planner. But her greatest passion and joy in life was her family. She was so very proud of all of them. Jacalyn will always be remembered for her kind soul and welcoming presence.
Besides her long-time companion of thirty-six years, she leaves: her loving daughters, Courtney Maturi of Georgia, Jessica Dispirito and her companion, David Dyer, Alexandra Dispirito and her companion, John Gagnon, and Katherine Dispirito, all of Fall River; her five grandchildren, Joshua Regan, Meaghan Sullivan, Erin Moore, Andrew Dyer, and Lorelei Dyer; one great-grandchild, Salem Sullivan; her three brothers, Charles Cochrane, Jr., and his wife, Jennifer, of Somerset, Robert Cochrane and his wife, Delores, of Pawtucket, Rhode Island, and Christopher Cochrane of Warren, Rhode Island; and many nieces and nephews.
The family would like to extend their thanks and gratitude to Jacalyn's team at Dana Farber, with whom she had built a close relationship over these past years: Dr. Geoffrey Oxnard, Lillian Flanagan, and Molly O'Brien.
Following a private cremation, Jacalyn's Memorial Funeral Mass was celebrated on Friday, August 19th, at St. Mary's Cathedral in Fall River. Private burial of her cremains will take place in St. Mary's Cemetery, Bristol, RI, at a later date. In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation in Jacalyn's memory to Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, P.O. Box 849168, Boston, MA 02284; 800-525-4669; www.dana-farber.org/gift
