Obituary

Jacqueline A. Souza, 74, of Fall River, wife of the late Peter Souza and the late John Texeira, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, July 31, 2023 at her residence. Born in Fall River, she was a daughter of the late Edward Tripp and the late Clara (Brazil) Tripp.

Prior to her retirement she worked as Certified Nursing Assistant for many years. An avid reader, animal lover, and a bit of a "jokester", she also loved crocheting, shopping, and trips to the casino. She enjoyed camping in New Hampshire and going on cruises to Alaska and the Bahamas. A devout Catholic, Jacqueline attended Mass faithfully and prayed the rosary daily. But most important to Jacqueline was spending quality time with her fun-loving family. She will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.

She leaves her three children, John Texeira, Jr. and his long-time companion, Stefanie Lane, of Fall River, Deborah Jackson and her husband, Michael, of Dartmouth, and Patricia Lake and her husband, Andrew, of Fall River; her eight grandchildren, Joshua Maltais (Jordan Halladay), Tyler Maltais (Jessica Pasaska), Brandon Jackson (Sarah Paquet-Griffin), Stephanie Machado, Bradley Knight, Matthew Knight, Nickolas Knight, and Jonathan Lake (Jordan David); her great-grandchildren, Landyn Maltais and Maysin Maltais; and many nieces and nephews. She also leaves behind her cherished Chihuahua, Niki. She was the sister of the late Robert Tripp and Linda Vennard.

Her Funeral Mass was celebrated on Monday, August 7th, 2023 in St. Anthony of Padua Church followed by a private cremation. In lieu of flowers, kindly consider a donation in Jacqueline's memory to: St Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St Jude PL, Memphis, TN, 38105 or Paw's New England, PO Box 542, Ashland, MA 01721.
