James E. Souza, 52, of Fall River, passed away on Sunday, surrounded by his family. He was the husband of Leslie A. (Pestana) Souza. Born in Fall River, son of Richard and Jean P. (Parker) Souza of Fall River. For many years, James was self-employed in his local scrap metal salvaging business, Parker Salvage. He is best known by his loving family and friends as a "Jack of all trades" because he could literally build or fix anything he put his mind to. James also loved fishing, was an excellent pool player, greatly enjoyed cooking and was a self-taught and naturally gifted artist, having drawn many beautiful pictures for his friends and family. He will be truly missed by everyone that had the chance to know him. Besides his wife and parents, James is survived by his children, Shawn Souza of Fall River, Kristin L. Gomes and her husband Tony of Fall River and Brookelynn Souza of Fall River; siblings, Richard Souza, Jr. and his wife Deborah of Fall River and Patricia E. Munroe and her husband William of Fall River; grandchildren, Casey and Brayden; and several nieces and nephews. His funeral service was held on Thursday evening, August 6th, during calling hours in our Fall River Chapel. His burial was private.
