James Medeiros, age 75, formerly of Platt St., passed away at St. Anne's Hospital on December 6, 2016. Born in Fall River, he was the son of the late Antonio and Honorina (Papoula) Medeiros. James was a lifetime parishioner of St. Anthony of Padua Church and looked forward to attending Sunday services. James loved spending time with his family and attending the yearly wine making gathering. He especially loved walking in the parish parade. James lived in a group home for the past 29 years where care was provided by many loving staff members of People Incorporated. James lived a full life at the home and loved going on trips to places like the Battleship Cove, Washington DC, and Maine. He loved going to McDonalds to share a coffee with his late brother Lawrence as well as with many of his caregivers. James especially enjoyed receiving post cards and mail and watching old western TV shows like Bonanza. James leaves behind his brother Manny Medeiros of NC, three sisters-in-law and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his brothers David, Tony, and Lawrence Medeiros. His Funeral Mass was celebrated on Saturday, December 10th, in St. Anthony of Padua Church followed by his committal at Notre Dame Cemetery.
