James R. "Mony" Monsour, 84, of Fall River, passed away Tuesday at Country Gardens Nursing Center. Husband of Angela (Marchesi) Monsour. Born in Fall River, son of the late Sahady and Nora (Swidey) Monsour. An Army veteran of WW II, he was awarded the Purple Heart. He graduated from Boston University and, after receiving his masters, went on to teach in the Middletown (RI) school system for over 30 years. Father of Maryanne (husband-Robert Santos), Melanie and Margaret Monsour; grandfather of Arielle and Julian Santos; brother of Violet Howayeck and the late James T. and Emile Monsour, Lily Tabit and Margaret Massoud. He also leaves several nieces and nephews. Relatives and friends gathered for his memorial mass on December 15, 2008 at in St. Anthony of the Desert Church. His cremation was private.
