James F. Powers, Jr., of Tiverton, passed away Wednesday April 5, 2017 at Charlton Memorial Hospital at the age of 72. He was the husband of Marjorie (Pires) Powers with whom they shared  50 years of marriage. Mr. Powers was born in Pawtucket and was the son of the late James F. Powers, Sr. and the late Laura (Seneca) Powers. He worked for many years as a welder for General Dynamics. He was well known as Grandpa of Grandpa's Lemonade where he adored working with his grandchildren and being generous to children on his route, always happy to give free treats to little ones with not enough money. He was a Free Mason and a Shriner.  Besides his wife, he leaves: 2 children, James F. Powers, III and Christine Powers both of Fall River; 1 brother, Normand Powers of  FL; 7 grandchildren, Mellisa, Megan, Kayley, Donald, Bryan, Judith and Thomas and 6 great grandchildren. He was the great grandfather of the late Albert Jacob. His Funeral Mass was celebrated on Tuesday, April 11th, in Holy Ghost Church in Tiverton followed by his committal at Beech Grove Cemetery in Westport.
