James Edward
Richner
d. Dec 10, 2023
James Edward Richner. 84, husband of Patricia (Rapoza) Richner, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, December 10, 2023 at Charlton Memorial Hospital. Born in Carthage, New York, he was a son of the late William Richner and the late Charlotte (Stevenson) Richner.
Prior to his retirement he worked as a Die Caster in the local metal processing industry for many years. A United Veteran of the Navy, he bravely and proudly served his country during peacetime. As a devout Catholic, he was a long-time parishioner of Holy Name Church, served as Eucharistic Minister, and volunteered (without hesitation) for many church events. He also enjoyed traveling to New York to visit family. Most notably, James was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather who loved spending quality time with all of his family.
Besides his loving wife of fifty-eight years, he leaves his daughter, Megan Richner of Fall River; his grandson, Cody Aguiar; his sisters, Elizabeth St. Pierre of Watertown, New York, and Jeannette Burhans of Dexter, New York; one brother, Robert Richner (late wife, Barbara) of Charlestown, New Hampshire; and many nieces and nephews. He was also the brother of the late Isabel Bickel and Gordon Stevenson.
His Funeral Mass was celebrated on Monday, December 18th, in Holy Name Church followed by his committal with Military Honors at Newport Memorial Park Cemetery in Middletown, RI. In lieu of flowers, kindly consider a donation in James' memory to: American Heart Association, 1 State Street, Providence, Rhode Island.
