Obituary

James A. Thorpe, 43, of Fall River, passed away on Friday, January 3rd. Born in Fall River, he was a son of James J. Thorpe of Fall River and the late Lucille S. "Lou-Lou" Thorpe. James is survived by his beloved children, James D. Thorpe and Paige Thorpe, both of Somerset; his fiancée, Heidi Liebl of Fall River; brothers, Jeffrey Thorpe of Swansea and Jerry Thorpe of Westport; sisters, Lynn Gonsalves of Westport and Lisa Kaio of Chicopee, MA; granddaughter, Darcy Thorpe; and several nieces and nephews. Above all, James loved his family and was known for having a heart of gold. Most will remember his favorite saying, "Stop the madness" He worked as a cement finisher and was an excellent musician, having mastered the drums and his cherished guitar, "Kelly", inspired by his original music and his favorite band Slayer. James was in the midst of finishing his in-home studio where he jammed with his son and close friends. He also greatly enjoyed his boats and motorcycle. Following his cremation, a memorial serivce was held on Saturday, January 11, in our Fall River Chapel. Donations in his name can be made to the charity of your choice.
