Janice M.
Jezak
d. Feb 10, 2023
Janice M. Jezak, 68, of Fall River, partner of Nancy Simcock, passed away peacefully with her loved ones by her side on Friday, Feb 10, 2023 following a brief illness. Born in Fall River, she was the daughter of the late Walter Jezak and Alice (Santos) Medeiros and stepdaughter of the late Gabriel Medeiros.
Prior to her retirement she worked as a physical education teacher for the City of Fall River Public School System for thirty-four years. An amazing and dedicated teacher, she also loved sledding with her Siberian Huskies, trips to the casino, and, being a political activist, talking politics. Most notably, Jan was a very generous woman and would always be willing to help anyone in need. Her passion for Siberian Huskies brought her many places to rescue countless dogs from being euthanized over the years. She will be truly missed by all who loved and knew her.
Besides her partner of forty-two years, she leaves her two brothers, Thomas Jezak and his wife, Deborah, of Fall River, and Michael Jezak and his wife, Christine, of Maine, and several nieces and nephews. She was also the sister of the late Walter T. Jezak.
Her Funeral Service was on Friday, February 17th, from our Fall River Chapel followed by her committal at the Blessed Virgin Mary Cemetery in Fall River. Her committal was followed with a Celebration of Her Life at the VFW Hall in Tiverton, RI. In lieu of flowers, kindly consider a donation in Jan's name to any no-kill animal shelter of one's choice.
Family members are always grateful for relatives and friends wishing to make in-person expressions of kindness and support. If you were unable to do so, because of this pandemic or any other reason, all are urged to express their sympathy online or by mail. To ensure that said condolences and/or sympathy cards reach the family, please always make sure that submissions online are made directly through the funeral home's website ( www.silvafaria.com ) and not through a third party. Thank you!
