Janice M. Kirkman, 86, of Swansea, passed away Wednesday after a brief illness. Widow of Joseph F. Kirkman. Born in Fall River, daughter of the late Arthur and Edna Duffy. She retired from the former Algonquin Gas Co. An avid gardener and shopper, Jan also enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren. Beloved mother of Jeffrey (wife-Barbara), Michael (fiancée-Allison) and Marybeth Kirkman; grandmother of Christopher and Nicholas Kirkman, Erin Almeida (husband-Pedro), Megan Worsham (husband-Stephen) and Cailyn Kelly (husband Brian); great grandmother "GG" of Andrew, Joshua, Luke and Liam; sister of Arthur "Bud" and Thomas Duffy, Anne Kenney and the late David and Martin Duffy. She also leaves several nieces and nephews. Her Funeral Mass was celebrated on Tuesday, December 3, in St. Francis of Assisi Church in Swansea followed by her committal at Mt. Hope Cemetery.
