Jean P. Souza, 81, of Fall River, wife of Richard Souza, passed away at home after a short illness on Tuesday, November 30, 2021, surrounded by her loving family. Born in Fall River, she was a daughter of the late Arthur Parker and the late Mary (Taylor) Parker.
She was employed as a certified nursing assistant for over 20 years at local area nursing homes in the Highlands of Fall River, including Cliff Haven and Cliff Heights. Jean enjoyed being a homemaker and a doting wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. She loved to cook, travel, and spend time with her family.
Besides her husband, of 64 years, she is survived by: two children, Richard Souza, Jr., (wife Deborah) of Fall River and Patricia Munroe (husband William) of Fall River; six grandchildren, Tammy Farias, Richard Souza III, Chad Prout, Shaun Souza, Kristin Souza, and Skylar Munroe; six great grandchildren, Coti, Taylor, Ryan, Araya, Cameron, and Olivia; a great great grandson, Liam; and several nieces and nephews.
She was also the mother of the late James Souza; and the sister of the late Arthur Parker, Jr., Robert Parker, Ronald Parker, and Wayne Parker.
A public visitation period was held on Monday, December 6th, in our Fall River Chapel. Her private funeral took place on the next day with Her Funeral Mass in Santo Christo followed by her committal at Notre Dame Cemetery.
