Jeanne M. (Tacovelli) Sousa, 76, of Fall River, the wife of Joseph Sousa, passed away Sunday, January 27, 2019 at St. Anne's Hospital. Born in Fall River, daughter of the late Peter and Vera (Macri) Tacovelli.  Jeanne was a graduate of BMC Durfee High School, Class of 1960. She was a librarian for the city of Fall River for over 20 years. Jeanne was a member of Holy Rosary Church and their Women's Guild,  Sons of Italy Loggia Vittoria Lodge #1035, and was a lifelong member of Westport Yacht Club.

Mrs. Sousa was an avid reader, enjoying many novels including her favorite authors James Patterson and Mary Higgins Clark. She also enjoyed cruises and beaches, and her grandchildren were a very important part of her life. Besides her husband of 56 years, she leaves: 2 children, Attorney Michael Sousa (partner Dan DeLange) of Providence, RI, and Shelli Roche (husband-Timothy) of Portsmouth, RI; 2 siblings,  Nancy Mauretti (husband-Gerald) of Fall River and Peter Tacovelli of Somerset ; 2 grandchildren, John and Kaitlin Roche, and several nieces and nephews.

Her Funeral Mass was celebrated on Saturday. February 2nd, in St. Joseph Church followed by her committal at St. Patrick Cemetery.
