Jeffrey D'Ambrosio, age 61, of Fall River, passed away in Somerset on Tuesday, July 29, 2014. Born in Fall River, he was the son of Mary C. (Orpen) D'Ambrosio and the late Anthony D'Ambrosio. A lifelong resident of Fall River, he was a graduate of Msgr. Coyle High School and S.M.U., now known as UMass Dartmouth. Jeffrey was employed as a Substitute Teacher, a Junior Engineer, and had also held a Real Estate Broker's License for several years. In 1970 he volunteered for the Big Brothers mentoring program and was instrumental in establishing an informal Big Brothers Club to create the opportunity for group socializing. Jeffrey formed a lifelong friendship with his last Little Brother and still maintains a close bond with him. Also in the 70's he managed a Minor League Baseball team in the South End of Fall River for several years. In addition to his mother, Mary, surviving family members include a sister, Pauline Campbell of Jacksonville, FL, three brothers; A. John D'Ambrosio of Somerset, Paul D'Ambrosio of Brazil, and his "Little Brother" David S. Silvia, CPO, U.S.N. (Ret.) of Chesapeake, VA, and several nieces, nephews and great nieces & nephews. His Funeral Mass was celebrated on Monday, August 4, in Holy Name Church followed by a private committal at St. Patrick Cemetery.
