Jennie "Nana" Batchelder, 88, of Somerset, passed away on Tuesday. She was the widow of Richard P. Batchelder, Jr., with whom she shared 27 years of marriage. Born in Providence, RI, daughter of the late Peter & Rose (Gergora) Habib. Nana worked as a nurse's aide for the Taunton State Hospital and was a longtime member of the Swansea Grange #148 and the Bay State Pomona Grange #33. She enjoyed knitting, crocheting and spending time with her grandchildren. Survivors include her daughters, Catherine A. Medeiros of Swansea, Deborah A. Carvalho of Fall River and Elizabeth A. Correa of Somerset; brothers, Richard P. Habib of North Haven, CT, Norman P. Habib of Warwick, RI and Mitchell P. Habib of Wrentham; six grandchildren; nine great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. She was also mother of the late Barbara Allen and sister of the late James P. Habib, George P. Habib and Emile P. Habib. Her Funeral Mass was celebrated on Friday, June 28, in St. Anthony of the Desert Church followed by her committal at Notre Dame Cemetery.
