Jennifer J. Botelho, 42, of Fall River, wife of Thomas P. Botelho and mother of Shawn Zen, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, May 21, 2020 at Rhode Island Hospital.

Born in Boston, Massachusetts, she was a daughter of James and Jaqueline (Crawford) Freeman.

She grew up in Chelsea, Massachusetts and graduated from East Boston City Roots Computer Learning Center, and was presently matriculating at Bristol Community College in Business Administration. She also worked as a dispatcher for several companies and as a political blogger and fair arbiter, in regards to politics and local issues, for the City of Fall River and the state of Massachusetts.

Jennifer was a beautiful soul who brightened all of our lives and a loving mother who lit up any space she was in.

She possessed a great capacity for love and compassion for both people and animals. Her gift of understanding and fairness brought many diverse groups together and inspired kindness and diplomacy, building bridges where once there were none.

She loved her family and friends unconditionally and forged deep, lasting bonds with all of them. Jennifer always had fond and fun stories "at the ready" of her family and friends growing up. She will be sorely missed by her Comcast family friends, gamer community, her Fall River friends, and fellow contributors to her Political Blog.

As a daughter, she was loving, caring, and brought much joy, fun, and love into her parents' lives. They are both proud of the loving, strong woman she became, and the loving, intelligent, and strong-hearted grandson she raised.

As a sibling, Jennifer was kind, understanding and always had their best interests at heart and would go out of her way to bring light into their lives, they shared every dream, milestone and supported each other through their heartaches, and celebrated the victories. She will be missed deeply by all of them.

The true light of her life and the person she was most proud of was her son, Shawn Mare Zen, from the day he was born, her soul was completed. He brought endless joy into her heart, and made her happy to her core, he was her greatest achievement.

Besides her husband of six years, she leaves: loving her son, Shawn Mare Zen of Fall River; her step-daughter, Alicia Botelho of Swansea; step-granddaughter, Layla; her parents, James M Freeman and Jaqueline M Freeman of Chelsea, Ma., her brothers, James M Freeman II and his wife, Bethany, of Arlington, Cornelius Freeman of Maine,  and  John P Freeman of Chelsea, MA;  her sister, Jacqueline Freeman and her partner, Steven Battaglia, of Chelsea, MA.; nieces and nephews, Colin Powers, Austin Freeman, Logan Freeman, Livia Freeman, and Brittany Freeman; and her great-niece, Eleanor Freeman. She was also the mother of the late Kyle and Kiley Magrath and aunt of the late Ayanna Freeman.

Jennifer's funeral arrangements were private.
