Jeremias M. Resendes, 94, of Fall River, husband of the late Leonora (Furtado) Resendes, died Saturday, May 18, 2019 at Catholic Memorial Home. He was formerly the husband of the late Maria (Silva) Resendes. Born in Agua Retorta, St. Michael, Azores, son of the late Francisco M. Resendes and the late Silvana (Resendes) Resendes, he emigrated to Fall River in 1966.

He worked for many years with Plymouth Rubber, formerly of Canton. A devout catholic, he was a communicant of St. Anthony of Padua Church and a member of its Holy Name Society. He enjoyed going to the beach and watching TV westerns.

He is survived by: a daughter, Maria C. Cabral (husband Luis) of Fall River; two brothers, Manuel Resendes of Canada and Jose Resendes of St. Michael, Azores; two grandchildren, Christopher Cabral and Susan Malone; a great grandson, Carter; and several nieces & nephews. He was also a brother of the late Humberto Resendes and Filomena Vicente.

His Funeral Mass was celebrated on Thursday, May 23rd, in St. Anthony of Padua Church followed by his committal at Notre Dame Cemetery.
