Jeremias Resendes, 93, of Fall River, husband of the late Nascimento M. (Pimentel) Resendes, passed away on Friday, January 17, 2020 at Charlton Memorial Hospital after a short illness. A son of the late Jose and Maria Agostinho (Medeiros) Resendes, he was born in Agua Retorta, St. Michael, Azores, where he was a prominent business owner – operating a store, as well as a taxi company and a supply transportation service.

After emigrating to Fall River in 1969, he was employed in the commercial construction industry for many years. Later he worked in Charlton Memorial Hospital's dietary department, retiring in the early 1990s.

Jeremias enjoyed gardening and fixing things, which he was very good at; but he especially loved spending time with his grandchildren. He is survived by: a daughter, Filomena Botelho (husband Raul) of Dartmouth; two grandchildren, Jonathan Botelho (wife Louise) and Katie Botelho; and many nieces and nephews.

He was also the brother of the late Manuel Resendes, Maria Resendes, Venancio Resendes, Agostinho Resendes, Lydia Resendes Silva, and Jose Resendes.

His Funeral Mass was celebrated on Wednesday, January 22nd, in St. Anthony of Padua Church followed by his committal at St. Patrick Cemetery.
