Joan Henry, formerly of Tiverton, Rhode Island, passed away Sunday, April 28, 2013, at the age of 70, following a long illness. She will be remembered for her dedication to her family and to the Catholic Church, most notably as the guidance counselor at the former St. Xavier's Academy in Coventry, RI. Joan graduated from Dominican Academy, Salve Regina College as well as earning her Masters Degrees from Providence College and the University of Rhode Island. Joan was a daughter of the late Peter Henry and the late Ruth (Porter) Henry. She was the loving sister to; Ann (husband – Jim) L'Heureux of Fall River, MA, Diane (husband-Bob) Tosca of Taunton, MA, and Peter (wife Valinda) Henry of Temecula, CA, as well as a very special aunt to Michael, Matthew, Erin, Calinia and Cassidy. Her Funeral Mass was celebrated on Thursday, May 2, in Holy Name Church followed by her committal at St. Patrick's Cemetery.
