Joao Manuel Araujo, 66, of Fall River, husband of Rosa (Cabral) Araujo, passed away at home on Friday June 24, 2016. Mr. Araujo was born in Vela Da Povoacao, St. Michael, Azores, and was a son of the late Eduardo and Maria (Dinis) Araujo. Joao worked locally as an auto mechanic for many years. He was a classic car enthusiast and also enjoyed gardening, but most of all, he loved spending time with his close-knit family. He was the beloved father of Theresa Rosseter and her husband Douglas, Cynthia Amaral and her husband John, and Lucy Araujo all of Fall River. He leaves his loving grandchildren Zaina Gouveia, Andrew Gouveia, Braxton Rosseter, Ashley Amaral, Adam Amaral, Austin Amaral, Kayla Ouellette, Kurin Ouellette, and Kerri Ouellette. He leaves a brother, Guelherme Araujo and his wife Fatima of Swansea, and his sisters; Eduarda Costa and her husband Jose and Margaret Botelho both of Fall River, Agatha Medeiros and her late husband John Carlos of Dartmouth, and Lucia Macedo and her husband Baltazar of New Bedford, and several nieces, nephews and godchildren. Following his cremation, his Memorial Mass was was celebrated Friday, July 1st, in St. Anthony of Padua Church.
