Joao F. Arruda, 60, of Fall River, husband of the late Cindy (Correia) Arruda, passed away peacefully on Friday, December 8, 2023 following a long illness. Born in Ponta Delgada, St. Michael, Azores, he was a son of the late Joao Arruda and the late Maria Isabel (Camara) Arruda.

Prior to his retirement, due to illness, he was a foreman in the local construction industry for many years. An avid Benfica fan, he also loved fishing, gardening, playing dominos, and, in his younger days, playing soccer. He very much enjoyed family gatherings, making everyone laugh, and his daily coffees and sweets. Most importantly, Joao was a strong-willed and a hard-working man who instilled high morals and practical work ethics in all of his children.

He leaves his loving children, Jeffrey John Arruda and his wife, Ashley, Michael Manuel Arruda, and Samantha Arruda and her fiancé, Ricardo Carvalho, all of Fall River; his two grandchildren, Kourtniee Arruda and Elias Arruda; his siblings, Etelvina Porto, Maria Rego, Maria Melo, Jose Arruda, Carlos Arruda, Helena Soares, Paula Costa, Antonio Arruda, Paulo Arruda, and Patricia Sousa; and many nieces and nephews.

His Funeral Mass was celebrated on Wednesday, December 13th, in Good Shepherd Parish Church followed by his committal at St. Patrick Cemetery in Fall River.
