Joao da Mota, 89, formerly of Flint St., passed away Monday at St. Anne's Hospital. Husband of the late Sarina (Medeiros) da Mota. Born in Pico da Pedra, St. Michael, Azores, son of the late Manuel and Maria da Luz da Mota. A retired construction worker, Joao was a member of the Luso-American Pentecostal Church. Father of Jose da Mota of Cape Coral, FL and Luisa Tavares of Fall River; brother of the late Francisco, Manuel, Guilherme, and Jose da Mota, Espirito Santo Tavares and Sesaltina da Mota. He also leaves 6 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren, many nieces and nephews. On Saturday, February 5th, family and friends gathered to celebrate Joao's life with a touching service at the Funeral Home. Following the ceremony, pallbearers brought Joao to his final resting place at St. Patrick Cemetery.
