Joao DeAguiar, 79, of Fall River, husband of Maria M. (Ferreira) DeAguiar, passed away on Wednesday, January 25, 2023, at St. Anne's Hospital. Born in St. Michael, Azores, a son of the late Joao Carreiro Aguiar and the late Maria Costa, he emigrated to Fall River in 1979. A dairy farmer for many years, prior to his retirement, Joao enjoyed farming and loved caring for animals.

Besides his wife, of 56 years, he is survived by: six children, Ana Paula Gomes (husband Durval) of Fall River, Nuno DeAguiar (wife Jen) of Fall River, Luis Aguiar of Fall River, Carla Aguiar (husband Joel) of Florida, Eddy DeAguiar (fiancée Jessica Maurelli) of Fall River, and Susie DeAguiar of Fall River; many siblings; 22 grandchildren; 9 great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. He was also the father of the late Zelia Cordeiro and John DeAguiar.

A prayer service was held on Tuesday, January 31st, during a visitation period in our Fall River Chapel. A private cremation followed.
