Joao P. Dias, 93, of Fall River, husband of the late Maria A. (Sampaio) Dias, passed away peacefully on Friday, February 2, 2024 at Charlton Memorial Hospital following a long illness. Born in Terceira, Azores, he was a son of the late Francisco P. Dias and the late Maria da Luz Dias.

Prior to his retirement he worked in the local textile industry as a machine operator for many years. He loved cooking, gardening, and traveling to such places as Portugal and Brazil. Most importantly, Joao enjoyed spending quality time with his family.

He leaves his loving son, Carlos E. Dias of Fall River and several nieces and nephews. He was also the brother of the late Francisco P. Dias, Maria de Lourdes Coelho, Manuel P. Dias, Maria Emilia Dias Soares, Conceicao P. Dias Machado, Luiz P. Dias, Jose Rafael Pereira, and Antonio P. Dias.

His Funeral Mass was celebrated on Friday, February 9th, in Espirito Santo Church followed by his committal at Notre Dame Cemetery.
