Joao Carlos Gravito, 77, of Fall River, husband of Maria Rosa (Lima) Gravito, passed away peacefully at home on Monday, May 4, 2020 after a long illness.

Born in Faja de Cima, St. Michael, Azores, he was a son of the late Jose and Maria da Gloria (Gravito) Gravito.

Prior to his retirement he worked as a cook at Gene's Market for many years. He was one of the founding members of Associacao Cultural Lusitania and also a longtime member of Sociade Banda Acoreana. An avid Benfica fan, Joao also enjoyed fishing, cooking, especially for his grandchildren, and spending quality time with all of his family.

Besides his wife fifty-two years, he leaves: his children, Rosie A. Gravito of Fall River, Cecilia J. Pires and her husband, Alberto, of New Bedford, and Messias Gravito and his fiancé, Jessica Teotonio, of Fall River; three grandchildren, Sage Elizabeth Pires, Destin Alberto Pires, and Ashton John Gravito; and several nieces and nephews.

His Funeral arrangements were private.
