Joao C. Sousa, 65, of Fall River, passed away peacefully, surrounded by his family on Saturday, July 10, 2010. He was the beloved husband of Lucia (Amaral) Sousa, with whom he shared 45 years of marriage. Born in Santa Clara, St. Michael, Azores, son of the late Isidoro and Ermelinda de Conceicao (da Costa) Sousa. Joao worked for the former Shetfield Mfg. in Norton, MA. He greatly enjoyed fishing and singing cantoria. Survivors include sons, John Sousa, Jr. and his wife Ann, Michael Sousa and his wife Idelta, and David Sousa and his wife Lizette; grandchildren, Scott Sousa, Krystal Sousa, Kyle Sousa, Justin Sousa, Owen Sousa and David Sousa, Jr.; and several nieces and nephews. He was also brother of the late Luzia De Oliveira. His funeral Mass was celebrated in St. Anthony of Padua Church. Committal service was held at St. Patrick Cemetery.
