Joao Vieira, 92, of Tecumseh St. passed away Monday after a brief illness. Husband of the late Maria M. Vieira. Born in Maia, St. Michael, Azores, son of the late Manuel and Maria da Gloria (Castro) Vieira. Beloved father of Mary Lou Braga (husband-Joe), Joseph Vieira, Grinaolda Botelho (husband-Edward), all of Fall River, John Vieira (wife-Elie), Goreti Amaral (husband-Emanuel), both of Westport and Theresa DaPonte (husband-Frank) of Bristol, RI; brother Laudalino and Agostinho Vieira, and the late Manuel, Jose, Mariano, Antonio, Maria and Angelina Vieira and Genevieve Silva. He also leaves 15 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren, many nieces and nephews. Joao was also grandfather of the late Timothy DaPonte. His Funeral Mass was celebrated on Friday, May 30, in Espirito Santo Church followed by his committal at Notre Dame Cemetery.
