An avid fisherman and quahogger, Joaquim also enjoyed watching soccer, having played in his youth, and was a former member of the Aetna Club.

Besides his wife of 60 years, he is survived by: a son, Francisco Correia (wife Kristen) of Fall River; a sister, Maria Arruda of Fall River; two grandchildren, Frank Correia (wife Robin) and Meagan Correia; two great grandsons, Jack and Evan; and many nieces and nephews.

His Funeral Mass was celebrated on Tuesday, January 14th, in Espirito Santo Church followed by his committal at Notre Dame Cemetery.
